El Visitante Desconocido – Spanish Theatre comes to JAGS!

On Thursday 26th February, the Spanish Department was delighted to host the Onatti Theatre Company and their new production of El Visitante Desconocido (The Unknown Visitor). Onatti writes and produces plays in foreign languages to be performed at schools and specifically aims the scripts at secondary school students.  All their plays are written to tie in vocabulary and topics covered in Key Stage 3 and GCSE.

Almost all of our Spanish students in Years 8, 9 and 11, plus a group of students from Evelyn Grace Academy in Brixton, were able to join us for this exciting, entertaining and highly visual performance.  We are sure that gave pupils a chance benefit from hearing and understanding Spanish in a different context to that of the classroom, without having to catch an aeroplane to Spain!  Judging by the peels of laughter during the performance and the enthusiastic feedback afterwards from the students, we will be inviting Onatti to return with their new play next year!
