Russian

Russian is one of the options offered as a second modern language in Year 8, and can be studied throughout the school at GCSE, AS and A2 level.

In Year 8 we cover topics including learning the alphabet, going to the café, shopping, describing the weather, our town and school. As pupils continue with Russian for a second year further topics are introduced including free time, the family, physical description, our home and holidays.

Many of our pupils decide to continue with Russian into key stage 4 and 5.

In recent years, several highly successful trips to Russia have been organised, giving the pupils the opportunity to use their language skills in a "real" environment. We try to develop as many cultural links as possible.
