Curriculum

The current provision for the curriculum is under constant review with new activities being introduced at different stages of a pupil’s development.  To see further details please click here for the Curriculum map for Year 7 to Year 12.  Below is a oversight of the offer for 2007/2008.

Year 7-9: hockey, netball, gym, dance, swimming, athletics, tennis, rounders. In year 9 the gym is replaced
by lacrosse. The pupils are grouped according to their ability in games, swimming, tennis and athletics.

The Year 10 programme has two distinct areas for the pupils in the Autumn and Spring term:

i)  A games programme - water polo, badminton, basketball and lacrosse.

ii) A programme of individual sports - trampolining, fitness.

Year 11 and 12

The pupils are offered a complete options package for on and off site activities. Many of the activities for each year are linked, enabling pupils to reach a high standard in one activity if they so wish.  Alternatively, they can experience four different activities to gain a broader experience.

In Year 11 all girls follow a compulsory personal safety course as part of their PSHE programme.

GCSE PE (AQA)

This two year course is offered to all girls in Year 10. The course consists of the practical elements (4) which have a weighting of 50%, the examination – 30% and an analytical investigation – 20%.

AS/A2 LEVEL PE (EDEXCEL)

This two year course is offered to all girls in the Sixth Form. The course consists of the practical elements, examination and coursework.
