On 6 November 2008 76 students studying French, Spanish, Italian, Russian or German in the Sixth Form took part in the first round of the European Union translation contest Juvenes translators 2008. Students were allowed to consult dictionaries to translate texts from the foreign languages into English. As we were looking for only four finalists born in 1991 for Italian, German, Spanish and French to represent the school in the competition we decided to extend prizes to all languages in a simultaneous in-house contest. |
