Aoi Phillips (Year 8) enjoys learning her mother's language - Japanese.

Aoi's essay about her learning history of Japanese appeared on a Japanese national newspaper. In the essay she wrote, entirely in Japanese, how she has been enjoying learning, how her Japanese has improved in the last several years and how her bilingual skill can be useful to help others.

Being a bilingual speaker has huge advantages, but it is difficult to maintain multiple language skills. All the language learners will agree with what she thinks about learning languages. "A language has an amazing power. Speaking two languages means you have the double power." Well done, Aoi!
