German Christmas Markets 2009
The last weekend of November saw 43 JAGS students from Years 8, 9 and 11 and five teachers set out for the annual Christmas Markets trip to Germany.
After an early start on Friday morning our coach driver took us safely to the Euro tunnel and alarmingly we were greeted by torrential showers in France. The weather did not improve in Belgium and everyone feared the worst, but we were lucky and had some beautiful sunshine when we arrived in Aachen for the first market.
Saturday was sunny again and we explored the market and surrounding shops in Bonn before heading for the pretty little town of Monschau. It was here that the rain finally caught up with us but some nice spaghetti at our youth hostel and a quiz and disco night organized by our eight Year-11-students quickly turned up the heat again.
On Sunday we left after breakfast and this time the torrential showers awaited us back in England!
A great weekend and thanks to all participants for making it a success!
