Field Trips

On 10th September Ms Harrison and Mrs Mollison’s intrepid Year 11 geographers prepared themselves for a day out in Hastings. It had been raining all week so bags were packed with waterproofs, warm clothes and cakes for Lizzie Conway’s Birthday. However, the sun came out, as it always does on Geography trips! The aim of the day was to collect data for the girls’ Controlled Assessments, which account for 25% of their Geography GCSE. We studied the groynes, pebbles and even used Mr Strong’s fishing nets to capture stray tennis balls when we investigated how fast waves transported the balls. At the end of the day we celebrated a successful trip with candy floss, blue ice creams and cups of tea. Thanks to Mrs Davis and Mrs Venn who came with us.
