On March 29 2011 the Year 12 geographers, who run the Geography Society, held a one off session to support the Year 7 pupils with their map reading skills. The Year 12s devised an imaginative range of activities to help develop the girls’ OS map skills, such as using 6 figure grid referencing and measuring distances. Already this term the Geography Society members have attended evening lectures at the Royal Geographical Society, delivered talks at lunchtime about water resource management and the recent tsunami in Japan and organised a Geography Photo competition. We look forward to plenty more enjoyable and informative events very soon!
