An assembly organised by the Geography Department recently focused our minds on the plight of those who don’t have access to clean water. The charity Water Aid will be delighted to receive the sponsorship money from Drink Water Week in November, contributing to a programme which aims to provide a clean supply of water, sanitation and hygiene education in countries like Bangladesh.

The total money raised was a magnificent £4452.63 and two classes, 7J and 9H, were exceptionally dynamic, raising over £500 each as a group.  In assembly today Deputy Head Mrs Deborah Bicknell presented certificates from Water Aid to pupils who raised over £100 each:
Eleanor Thornber 7J, Jordanne Radhakrishnan 9H, Gayaneh Vleighe 8J, Amelia Marshall 7S, Rebecca Nicholls 7A, Simi Sidhu Robb 7J, Jasmine Che Y12, Georgina Needham-Burnett 9D, Olivia Springall 7J and Clara Bayley 8J.

Congratulations to everyone whose efforts have raised awareness of the need for clean water.
A special thank you goes from the Geography Department to parents and girls for their support.
