Two assemblies organised by the Geography Department last term focused our minds on the plight of those who don’t have access to clean water. Janet Wells from Water Aid will be delighted to receive the sponsorship money from Drink Water Week in December, contributing to a programme which aims to provide a clean supply of water, sanitation and hygiene education in countries like Bangladesh.

The total money raised was £2,778.85p and 7B were exceptionally dynamic, raising nearly £600 as a form. In assembly today Mrs Gibbs presented certificates from Water Aid to pupils who raised £50 or more:

Tarini Tripathi, Zoe Harris Wallis, Sophie Hubbard, Ella White and Lucy Mellors (7B)

Emma Soo, Imogen Insley and Cosimo Howard (8J), Jemisi Sofari  and Susie Thomas (8A),

Shalaka Bapat (8M) and Andie Gbedemah (Year 13).

Congratulations to everyone whose efforts have raised awareness of the need for clean water.

A special thankyou goes from the Geography Department to parents and girls for their support.
