French AS at JAGS.

On Monday 10th March, the French department organised various language-related games and activities for 20, Yr 11 and Yr 12 girls studying French AS and their peers from Dulwich College.

Five mixed teams participated in five language activities (they played the word-guessing game taboo, dubbed a movie, practised famous tongue twisters, improvised a speech and had to recognise twenty famous French politicians, authors or athletes).

They all enjoyed themselves and competed to the last minute but finally Alex Butterworth, Alicia Manley, Kitty Kent and Julia Wedmore as well as Ben Firth and Kevin Lindsay from Dulwich College won.

Are we "vert" yet?

Girls from Year 7, 8 and 9 were recently asked this question by the actors of the European Theatre Company who visited the school on Monday 18th February 2008 bringing their show "Cendrine Bio", by Jill Aisher. Throughout the performance, pupils took part in a range of ways to bring to life the story of Cendrine and her environmentally unfriendly sisters. With singing, dancing and plenty of opportunities to take part, pupils made recycling decisions, made recycled music and even made recycling history by doing it all in French!

A competition has been launched to design a "green shoe" and the winners will be soon announced.
