‘Young Art’ Exhibition at the Royal College of Art

This year’s exhibition, held annually at the Royal College of Art in aid of Cancer

Research UK, proved to be a real showcase for the exceptional work of JAGS’ pupils. ‘Young Art’ began 21 years ago with only a handful of schools participating but now has representations from thousands of pupils from England and Scotland. This fact makes our girls’ achievements all the more remarkable.

This year’s theme was ‘Every Picture Tells a Story’.  Among those whose work was selected to exhibit were:

Sidonie Wilson, Abigail Karas, Katharine Higgs, Gemma Wells , Harmony Osuocha, Emma Simmons and  Harriet Neale. Iona Thompson’s work was commended.

As if all this wasn’t fantastic enough, the pinnacle of the evening was the receipt of the most major accolade - The Rector’s Prize–by Amber-Lily Fraser, for her beautiful painting. This was presented by Sir Christopher Frayling, who - along with fellow speakers Ken Howard RA OBE and Humphrey Ocean RA - gave the most inspiring speeches.

A fantastic occasion yet again – well done everyone!
