Young Art

‘I Remember ’was this year’s theme for the 20th annual ‘Young Art’ exhibition in aid of Cancer Research UK. In January a total of 7,437 entries were received from 92 schools. We were delighted that

ten pupils from James Allen’s Girls’ School were selected for the exhibition with Annecy Attlee in the A level category winning the highly prestigious Rector’s Prize. Also exhibiting in the exhibition in the GCSE category were, Alexandra Wilson, Alice Parker, Caroline Martin, Amber-Lily Fraser, Abigail Karas, Bethia Ruttle, Emily Scorer and Nathalie Power and in the Year 7 – 9 category, Freya Turner.

The Prize Giving was held on Tuesday 12th May – a great occasion! Dr Paul Thompson the Rector and Vice-Provost of the Royal College of Art presented Annecy her prize and Humphrey Ocean RA, Chris Orr RA and Sir Christopher Frayling all gave inspirational  speeches, motivating all the exhibitors to continue on ‘the art road!’.
