Parents

JAGS is very fortunate in the support and goodwill of parents. An active Parents’ Association encourages links between parents themselves as well as parents and the school through a range of enjoyable social events, and donates any profits raised to help fund school projects.

All parents are automatically members of the JAGS Parents’ Association (JPA), which is run by a committee of parents who volunteer their time to supporting the school in ways that will benefit the girls.

JPA’s main objectives are:

  • To provide a social focus for the girls, parents and staff
  • To co-ordinate popular annual events/functions eg. Christmas Quiz Night
  • To host the Year 7 Parents Social Evening
  • In conjunction with Dulwich College, to organise the Years 7 & 8 Disco
  • To co-ordinate uniform sales
  • To allocate any funds raised through various activities to departments of the School for additional equipment (recent examples have included landscaping, digital cameras, notice boards and high jump mats)
  • To encourage parents to become Class Reps
  • To provide advice to Class Reps including limited financial support for social events held by Class Reps.
  • The new JPA Constitution can be viewed here.

All parents are encouraged to involve themselves in the JPA’s activities. Contributions, in whatever form, are always valued.  To view the JPA Constitution please follow this link.  If you are interested, please contact a JPA committee member.  The minutes of the JPA Annual General Meeting 2007 can be viewed at AGM minutes.

A second hand uniform sale is held on the first Friday of each month for girls wishing to replace lost items of uniform, jumpers, PE kit etc. The sale takes place from 8 - 8.30 am in the Holst Hall.
