Founded in 1741, James Allen’s Girls’ School is the oldest independent girls’ school in London and regarded as among the most successful in the country. We are committed to providing a first-class education for girls — our philosophy is to promote ‘excellence in every endeavour’. Girls are encouraged to do their best at whatever they attempt, to explore new opportunities and to enjoy every aspect of school life. Our ethos promotes consideration, care and courtesy for others. Our pastoral care provides support and understanding as girls progress through the school and meet new challenges.

We are rightly proud of our place in the premier league of schools, but education is not just about examinations and league tables. JAGS offers a particularly rich curriculum, not merely in terms of academic subjects – we also encourage learning outside the classroom through our wide range of extra-curricular activities, inviting girls to develop their own talents and discover their strengths and skills. Education should provide fun and excitement, and a love of learning should be a lifelong joy.
