To Read and So...

To Read & So... is our newsletter for former pupils, their parents, friends, and former members of staff. Below is an excerpt from out current edition.  Select here for a full pdf version of the document. NB: it may take a little time to load.

JAGS Art Fair

We are delighted to announce that JAGS will be hosting its first Art Fair on the weekend of 22 & 23 November 2008. The event will be held in our new two-storey dining hall and will be open to the public. Please put this date in your diary and come along and buy some art.

The Art Fair will have two distinct sections. Up to 37 local and JAGS-connected artists will be selling their artworks, priced between £50 and £5,000 and paying a fixed percentage of their takings to JAGS. At the same time we will be holding an online auction of donated works by some very well-known artists. Buyers will be able to log on and bid for these latter works for several weeks before the Art Fair.

All the profits from this event are being donated to the fund for our new James Allen’s Community Music Centre (described elsewhere in this issue by the Headmistress). Further details of the Art Fair will be enclosed with the next edition of To Read and So…, but if you are a professional artist who would like to apply for a stall at the Art Fair or would like to donate a work to the online auction (or know a professional artist who might wish to do this), please contact Myles Rusak in our Development Office as soon as possible.
