World Book Day March 5th 2008

If you’ve noticed pupils round the school with their noses stuck into books even more than usual, it wouldn’t be surprising. All JAGS pupils received their £1 World Book Day voucher, together with a list of recommended books, on Monday March 2nd; on Wednesday March 4th the girls had the opportunity to use their voucher to buy a book in school.

The local bookshop in Dulwich, Village Bookshop, Calton Avenue, came into school with a wide variety of books for a lunchtime sale in the Judge Hall, next to the new dining hall.

This was a very popular event; girls could either supplement their £1 with cash or a credit slip to buy a book of their choice, or collect one of the World Book Day special £1 books on offer, and many chose to buy several new books to read.
