Author Visits

Y8 absorbed some hot tips about the process of writing from children’s author, Cathy Hopkins, on a recent visit to JAGS. Cathy celebrates her friends in her writing, but, be warned, she may immortalise people she doesn’t like so much too!

“She writes in a different way,” Y8 Grace explains. “She likes to write about ordinary teenage life and how people from different backgrounds come together,” said Sylvia, Grace and Alex. They are fans of her work, proudly showing off a signed copy of the latest novel, ‘Paparazzi Princess’.  Zuneira recommends the ‘Mates, Dates’ series.  “The stories are really realistic from our point of view. Cathy can get into the mind of a teenager and relate to them.”
