Author Visit from Anne Cassidy

Anne Cassidy, author of ‘Looking For JJ’, ‘The Dead House’ and ‘Missing Judy’ as well as many other books for young people, visited JAGS to talk to all Year 8 classes in the Library.

Anne Cassidy Book signing

Anne is an ex-English teacher who has become a prize winning author and she held the girls spell -bound as she read from a selection of her work, and discussed how she arrived at her plots, settings and characterisation. The girls were much impressed that some of Anne's ex-pupils figured in her writing – not always favourably!

As well as entertaining over 120 Year 8s, Anne also signed copies of her books over lunchtime – and a long queue of other year groups were all able to meet and talk to her. The girls gave Anne some chocolates and flowers at the end of a very successful day in JAGS Book Week. After Tuesday's senior school lunchtime sale by Village Books, everyone should have gone home very satisfied with their new reading.
