Public Examinations

Year 10 school examinations will run from Tuesday 8 June to Friday 18 June 2010 inclusive.

Year 10 will be taking public examinations: Chemistry GCSE unit 1 module in the morning of Wednesday 16 June, and Physics GCSE unit 1 module in the afternoon of Thursday 24 June.

The last day of school for the Year 11 before they go on study leave for the GCSE examinations will be Friday 14 May 2010. It will be a full school day.

A Level

Many congratulations to our Year 13 girls and their teachers; they have worked very hard for these examinations. The girls should also be proud that they have still found time to give an enormous amount to others through community action and extra-curricular activities.

60 of our 86 Year 13 leavers gained at least 3 A grades at full A level

5 girls: Annie Devlin, Nicola Ingram, Manisha Kumar, Rosie Patchett and Katarzyna Reda achieved 5 A grades at full A level 

24 girls achieved 4 A grades at full A level

83 % of all our full A level entries were awarded grade A

96% of all our full A level entries were awarded grade A or B

All 13 JAGS girls offered places at Oxford and Cambridge in January 2009 met the conditions and are taking up their places.

GCSE

Congratulations to Year 11 girls and staff at JAGS who are celebrating the school’s GCSE results.  

        53% of all entries graded A *;

        84% of all entries graded A*/A

        76 of 105 Y11 gained at least 8 A* or A grades

        8 girls achieved 10 A*;

        16 girls achieved 9 A*;  

        12 girls achieved 8 A*

        100%  achieved 5 A*-C grades (national benchmark)

Eight girls (Ellen Chapman, Ellie Daniels, Hannah Drake, Andie Gbedemah, Annabel Parry, Eleni Pittas, Quinta Pusey and Emma Van Oss) achieved 10 A* and a further 17 girls gained 9 A*.  As Mrs Gibbs, Headmistress, says “The girls really deserve these results; they have worked hard and been involved in many other activities as well.  We are very proud of them. ”
