We are working with groups of alumnae, current parents, pupils and staff, ex-parents, former staff, friends and supporters of JAGS to raise the substantial sums we need in innovative ways. 

JAGS is not a rich school.  Tuition fees pay for the running of the school with a margin for bank loan repayments (on previous capital projects) and future small capital needs. Scholarships and Bursaries are funded not from parents’ fees but from investment income and the annual distribution from the Dulwich Estate – we remain committed to a continuous, prudent expansion of our Bursaries scheme for pupils who would benefit from a JAGS education but whose families cannot afford the fees. Substantially increasing our school fees to pay for the JACMC project would be difficult as many families are making significant sacrifices to meet their current fees. Accordingly, it is the Governors’ view that funds have to be raised to pay the capital costs of the Community Music Centre. 

We appreciate that while some donors prefer anonymity, some like to name things on behalf of members of their family or friends. 

Opportunities will also be available to sponsor music scholarships, music lessons for individual students and performances. Various possibilities will also be open to the donors of smaller sums, such as naming seats in the auditoria or helping to provide equipment. Please contact the Development Office to find out more about this.  We will find ways to acknowledge publicly the gifts of all those who would like this.

There are various ways in which financial support can be provided for this exciting venture, whether donations are made individually or corporately. We welcome gifts of all sizes; what is important is that people feel happy to be part of the project and know that their contributions, which will vary according to their means, are all highly valued.
