The second Art Fair at JAGS took place at the end of November and, like the first, was a great success. This year we were able to use the new dining hall as the venue which proved to be warm, bright and spacious and contributed to the relaxed and cheerful ambiance. The Deep End Café was open for business and added a festive air by serving mulled wine and mince tarts.

Thirty seven talented and friendly (and mainly professional) artists were represented many of whom had taken part in the Fair the previous year. We were especially pleased to welcome John Martin who used to be in the Art Departmet at JAGS and is now an internationally renowned artist. It was a pleasure to see such a great variety of work exhibited including painting, sculpture, prints and ceramics in a wide range of sizes and prices.

There was a steady stream of enthusiastic visitors over the weekend who were keen to browse and buy. Many works were sold - the proceeds of which will go to the campaign to raise money for the James Allen's Community Music Centre. We hope the Art Fair will continue to be an annual event in the JAGS calendar.
