South London Teacher Training
South London Teacher Training (SLTT)
This is a school-based initial teacher training scheme (SCITT) where trainees work entirely within a consortium of ten local secondary schools (both state and independent) and are awarded an Open University PGCE and QTS.
JAGS was one of the founder members of SLTT and the consortium welcomed its first trainees in September 2000. Currently the scheme has places for ten Science trainees, ten Modern Languages trainees and seven English trainees. Each trainee has placements at two different schools during the year. The schools in the consortium at present are: Colfe’s School, Coloma Convent Girls’ School, Eltham College, Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College, James Allen's Girls' School, Langley Park School for Boys, Prendergast School, St Olave’s Grammar School, St Saviour’s & St Olave’s School and Trinity School.http://www.hahc.org.uk/SLTT/slttnewframe.htm
