Kingswood School

Another partnership which takes place in Liberal Studies time, this year our Kingswood group have been organising a group of Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils at the primary school to create their own school newspaper. The children have learned how to present their own interests and skills in the recruitment process, how to conduct interviews – of their own headmaster and other staff – and how to research and create articles for themselves.  We have worked closely with the teaching staff at Kingswood to build on the children’s school experience, and the JAGS group has learned how to combine forward planning with flexibility in their need to go to press by the deadline, despite interruptions due to snow, staff training and A2 practical exams.  From September 2009 JAGS 6th formers will be helping to provide wrap-around care between 4.00 and 6.00 p.m. for 3-11 year olds.
