Cheshire Homes
Athol House
|
Tuesday after-school visits to Athol House, the Cheshire Home on College Road, are now well-established with a team of around 20 JAGS girls. We have also been involved in social and fund-raising events, such as the hugely successful Fun Day Sunday in September 2009 in the garden of Athol House, featuring the creative talents of thelocal community and of course JAGS singers and bands (both staff and pupils). All entrants were commended by judges Huw Edwards and Jo Brand. With delicious treats like cinnamon tea bread, Latin-American dance displays, stalls and raffles, balloons launched impressively fast on a breezy day, it was a great way to spend a bright, autumnal afternoon; and the funds raised, £6,328.00 will provide cruc ial support for the clients. |

Everyone has undertaken a comprehensive training session run by the charity Leonard Cheshire, to give them practical help in using wheelchairs and wider understanding of issues linked to disability. |
